YAML to TOML

Convert a single YAML mapping to TOML. Multiple documents and a non-mapping root are errors. YAML comments are not copied.

TOML output uses table headers. The indent option applies to JSON and YAML only.

  • The YAML root must be a mapping. A scalar or array root is rejected.
  • YAML comments are not copied into the TOML.

FAQ

Why was my file rejected?

TOML is one document whose root is a table. A second --- document, or a root array, cannot be converted.

Will date-like strings become TOML dates?

No. Plain strings stay strings. Only values the YAML parser already treated as timestamps can become TOML dates.
